Victoria Falls are the biggest and more spectacular waterfalls in Africa.
Those remarkable waterfalls were discovered by the British explorer Livingstone in 1855, and named it after the Queen of England of the time, while the locals called them Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning ‘the smoke that thunders'. The nearest Zambian city bears the name of founder Livingston.
Victoria falls are situated on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia and can be visited from both sides. Th side at Zambia is situated after the falls and with a short walk it is possible to reach the foot of the 108m high and 2km-wide falls. The falls are a remarkable site due to its size and the amounts of water that they throw, especially between December and July.
Other attractions in the area include bungee jumping at Cecil Rhodes' bridge at the border, aerial views from a Micro-light or fixed-wing plane, kayaking, canoing, fishing and prime game-viewing in the neighboring area.
