Hoi An is a charming Vietnamese city that's rich in history. The city was able to survive successive wars and still was able to preserve its attractions. Hoi An or Faifo can be considered a touristy area where so many restaurants, hotels and shops have been established. Hoi An's Old Town is even part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
It will only cost you 5 US dollars to be given entry to historical sites such as the Museum of Say Huynh Culture where 1st and 2nd century urns and pottery may be seen, and the Museum of Revolution which displays various weapons e.g. machine guns and grenade launchers. Snorkelling and scuba diving may be done in Hoi An's Cham Island. There is also the Hoi An Eco Tour which allows you to learn skills like basket boat rowing and catching fish. When in Hoi An, do not pass up on popular local dishes such as the Cao lau, a rice noodle dish topped with vegetables, herbs, and pork; and the White rose, a rose shaped dumpling.
