When some people hear the word Vietnam, they immediately think of the Vietnam War. The war ended in the year 1975 and for several years now, the people of Vietnam have reinvented their city to be one of Asia's tourist destinations. True, you'll find war related sites and tourist spots in Vietnam such as Ho Chi Minh City's Cu Chi Tunnels and Hue's DMZ or Demilitarised Zone, but there are still a variety of places you can visit that do not symbolize the war – instead they bring fun and relaxation.
Vietnam's capital city Hanoi is the seat of the arts. Hue is a city that emanates royalty where palaces, pagodas and temples may be visited with most structures built for the imperial families of Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City is the business capital and is filled with high rise buildings and villas designed in the French colonial way. Hoi An is the city where relaxing beaches are found and where tourists can frolic under the sun and on the sand. Vietnam surely will not disappoint its tourists.
