Uzbekistan
Country facts:
Uzbekistan in Central Asia is a country known for both its good and bad reputations. As the region's cradle of culture, the country is home to various stunning architecture and artefacts - all infused with a millennia of the country's history. While it's true that Uzbekistan is not the only nation in the world to bear some bad apples, it is nonetheless tainted in a darker light.
However, where Uzbekistan's tourism is concerned, the good prevails. 3 places that practically epitomize Central Asia are in the country. These are Samarkand, Khiva, and Bukhara. Samarkand is almost larger than life, on air and on land. Domes, minarets, and towering monuments cast its spell on tourists, while its colourful bazaars mesmerizes.
Bukhara is considered the holiest city in the region, with buildings dating back to a thousand years. Here, it's possible to overdose on historic architectures. Meanwhile, Khiva could be the only city in Central Asia where the historic centre is totally preserved.
