Flores

Flores is an area in the south central portion of Uruguay considered one of Uruguay's departments. President Máximo Santos created Flores and actually named it after Venancio Flores, who used to be the leader of the Colorodo Party and was born in Trinidad during the 19th century. Flores is known for having an amazing collection of rock art specifically at Chamanga which dates back to the prehistoric times. The department also is home to several musical talents, the most notable being Danilo Pallares Echeverria.
Flores is an agricultural town and is focused on cattle-raising. Though most of the traditions are observed by the locals, they do not hinder technological advancement; in fact, there are wireless and digital Internet connections available in Flores. There are countless birds found in the town. Rufous Horneros, green parrots and the Tinamous are some of the birds that amaze not only bird watchers, also most tourists and natives.
