Keelung is located in the northern part of Taiwan and is one of its port cities close to the capital of Taipei. The city is Taiwan's second largest port with a population of just over 350,000. The weather is often sunny and mild during the summer with lots of rain and clouds during the winter. There is bus service as well as train service that connects the city to the rest of Taiwan. Keelung does not attract the number of visitors that other cities in Taiwan do but has a number of attractions to see. The Kuanying Temple and Statue is a nice place to visit and offers an incredible view from of the city and surrounding area. Fulung Beach is the most popular beach in the city and is one of northern Taiwan's favorite beaches. Keelung also has a very nice replica of the famous Statue of Liberty. Probably the best sightseeing place you can visit is the night market on Temple Street. This market is filled with tasty local foods as well as a number of different souvenir items and more.
