Kaohsiung

Kaohsiung is Taiwan's second most populated metropolis. The city is located in the southern part of island. Kaohsiung is known most for its big harbor and more for commerce than tourism. Nevertheless, the weather is very good the entire year and that makes the region popular for visitors. You can arrive via plane at the international airport that is just twenty minutes from downtown. There are a number of flights that arrive daily from Taipei and other international cities. The Love River is the city's focal point. The river runs through the center of the city and much has been done along the banks of the river to attract tourism. A number of outdoor restaurants and cafes offer great views and a relaxing time to watch the passersby and the river's activity. The Sizihwan Bay is a beautiful area and many gather every afternoon to watch the sun set over the bay. A number of tours run up and down the river pointing out the impressive buildings and other structures in the city.
