Taiwan

The island nation of Taiwan is about 36,000 square kilometers in size and located off the southeastern coast of China. Taiwan is part of and governed by China. The country has a population of over 23 million and making it one of the worlds' most densely populated nations. Taiwan has a number of beautiful lush green forests. A number of museums, national parks and scenic areas attract tourists from all over the world. Five national parks are scattered across the country as well as two major scenic areas. For many western tourists Taiwan is not seen as a destination for tourism, nevertheless in the country a number of sites promote the island's tourism and culture. The nation's capital of Taipei is a vibrant city with a number of cultural activities and different forms of entertainment. Taiwan is also home to the Pop Culture of China. Among Asians, the Taiwanese cuisine is considered very good.
