Scandinavia's largest city and the capital of Sweden, Stockholm is a city that boasts of wild party nights, miles of stunning waterways, historic and medieval sites, superb shopping choices, and gourmet restaurants. Stockholm, indeed, lives up to its status of a popular holiday destination. And with a moderate climate with mild winters and summers, the city becomes the perfect year-round getaway.   While the city thrives as an urban metropolis with its multitude of restaurants, parks, museums, and clubs, its centuries-old squares and alleyways - that are spread across 14 islands - make it a modern city with a charming small-town heart.   Many of Stockholm's attractions can be found within the Innerstaden or the inner city, which consists of the northern and southern inner cities.
