Kandy is considered the last Sri Lankan kingdom after Sri Lanka fell in the hands of the British. Kandy is found on the central portion of Sri Lanka and is considered the cultural center of the country. It is actually included in UNESCO's World Heritage List. Kandy is known for its beautiful lake and hills and despite the fact that it has become urban, people can still enjoy a lot of greenery all around Kandy.
There are several Kandy attractions and sites that really catch the attention and interest of so many people. One is the Royal Botanical Garden which is considered the best Sri Lankan garden. It has been around during the time of the ancient Sri Lankan kings. Another interesting Kandy site is the Tea Museum which really educates visitors on the Sri Lankan Tea e.g. its history, how it is made, and so on. Temples in Kandy are also popular spots, examples are: Embekke Devalaya, Gadaladeniya, Degaldoruwa, Galmaduwa Viharaya, etc. You won't run out of places to visit when in Kandy.
