Dambulla

Dambulla is a Sri Lankan city known popularly because of its cave temples (collectively called the 'Royal Rock Temple'). The temples are located on top of a hill in Dambulla. Tourists can visit Dambulla, specifically the Royal Rock Temple on a day trip, or if they wish to spend their night in the city, they can do so as there are several accommodations offered in the area.
To reach the cave temples, you have to climb some rock-stairs. Once you enter the temples, you can expect to see various paintings and sculptures – ones that have been around for countless years and they are truly well preserved. The Minneriya National Park and the Sigiriya Rock Formation are also accessible when you're in the city of Dambulla. The Amaya Lake Resort is also a place where you can rest or sleep and also relax while in Dambulla.
