Nestled on the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains, Sochi is a city that stretches 90 miles along the Black Sea and is the longest metropolis in the whole of Europe. Boasting a subtropical climate with lush forests and pebbled beaches, this city is also referred to as the Russian Riviera. Not only that, Sochi is also home to many natural wonders such as waterfalls, botanical parks, world-class skiing resort, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Caucasian Biosphere Reserve.
One of Sochi's attractions is its sulphur springs and its more than 200 health spas including the famous Matsesta. During the summer, people from all over the world congregate in Sochi for the annual Kinotavr Film Festival. In winter, tourists make their way to ski at the Krasnaya Polyana, which will host the 2014 Winter Olympics.
