Brasov is Romania's 7th largest city located at the heart of Transylvania. It is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains as well as host of scenic villages and historic castles. It is a popular destination among tourists who visit the country as Brasov boasts a delightful mix of modern-city living and Old-World charm.
The city's Old Town showcases cobblestone alleys and medieval stone walls and buildings that are more like a German town than Romanian. Inside Brasov's historic centre is the Black Church, which was constructed by the German community. It is also one of the largest and most notable Lutheran churches in the region.
Aside from the church, the Old Town houses the Town Museum, Piata Sfatului, Brasov Citadel, and Strada Sforii - the narrowest street in Europe. For something more modern, the Brasov Zoo and Art Museum are ideal destinations.
Travellers can stretch out a little and enjoy Brasov's stunning landscapes by hiking and trekking, or go skiing in Gold Coast, Romania.
