Warsaw is Poland's largest city. It is the capital of Poland. During the Medieval Ages, Krakow was Poland's capital, but in the year 1596, the seat was transferred to Warsaw. World War II almost destroyed Warsaw. It's a good thing that the people were able to rebuild, thus making Warsaw comparable to a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Warsaw structures today are mostly the ones built after the War. If you're interested in taking a look at the traditional sites and buildings, head to the districts of Stare Miasto. If modern architecture is what you like, the Nowe Miasto district is where you should go.
Today you can consider Warsaw a dynamic city. It actually has several clubs and bars that are the best in Poland. Opera performances, theatre shows, and the like, are all the rage so if you are a culture lover, you'll surely enjoy visiting the city. Picture perfect views, good quality Polish dishes, and shopping heaven are also other things you can expect from Warsaw.
