Krakow is the second largest city in Poland which used to be the capital city. There's proof that Krakow settlements have been around since 20,000 BC. A popular legend about the city is that it was specifically built on top of a dragon's cave – the dragon that was killed by the mythical Polish king (King Krak). Back in 1000 AD, the metropolis was small, but because of the consistent trades with various European cities and countries, Krakow grew and became a wealthy city. It even became known as the Centre of Science and the Arts.
Countless people love visiting Krakow attractions, most especially those who love history and culture. The Wawel Castle is one of the frequently visited sites and is a tribute to Gothic architecture. To feel spiritual, hearing mass in St. Mary's Church is recommended. The Market Square is a good place to take in the rich scenery and feed the pigeons. When in Krakow, do not pass up on some of the best Polish dishes such as the Pierogi and the Zurek.
