This year the Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, Philippines promises to be more spectacular than the last. The month long celebrations which starts on the 1st week of February every year, showcases the city's beautiful flowers. The festival will have visitors enjoying multiple float and floral parades, street dancing, and fireworks display.
Aside from boosting the economy of the province through tourism, the Panagbenga Festival also aims to help the younger generation to rediscover the old traditions and culture. In addition, the festive occasion is to pay homage to the flowers that grow in the city, and to forget the 1990 earthquake that devastated Baguio City.
This year, the celebration starts with a parade on the 1st of February. This is followed by a fluvial float parade around the middle of the month. To experience the highlight of the occasion, be sure to get front row seats on the Grand Street Dancing Parade and the Grand Float Parade on the weekend of February  25-26, 2012.
