Encarnacion is a small town in south Paraguay.
The town of Encarnacion is situated on the Parana river and is connected with Argentina by a bridge. It is one of the most international towns of Paraguay with large groups of Polish, Ukrainian, German, Japanese and Korean immigrants living in and around the city.
Encarnacion is a good base for exploring the ruins of the Jesuit Mission of Paraguay, which is a world's heritage site. Other attractions of the town include the sumer carnival, the nearby Yacyreta Dam and the Ukrainian Orthodox church on Plaza Artigas.
