Almirante

Almirante is located not far from the border with Costa Rica and in the province of Bocas del Toro.
Almirante is know for its productions of banana as it's the home of famous Chiquita bananas and is a mostly a passage point for travellers who want to get a water taxi or ferry to get to Bocas del Toro, where you can discover fantastic islands, nature and see many species of animals.
Everything is cheap but regarding hotels or restaurants you don't have a big choice and the nightlife is almost absent. It is recommended mostly for low cost travellers and nature lovers.
