Salalah is a coastal city in Oman, The Middle East.
The city of Salalah is one of the known destinations for local and international tourists in Oman. The city is interesting with its natural surroundings which are more typical for East Africa with mild tropical climate and African flora and fauna. It is a dreamed break from the desert landscape of the most of the Arab peninsula.
Interesting sites in the area of Salalah city are the villages of Taqa and Wadi Dirbat, the hanging valley on the Jebel Samhan plateau, the lost desert city of Ubar and the Baobab Forest with some of the trees dating more than 2000 years. There are numerous activities that are available in Salalah, like sun-bathing, scuba-diving, fishing, sailing, kayaking or canoing.
