Tsumeb is the capital town of the Oshikoto area in northern Namibia, Africa.
The city's contemporary past perhaps starts in 1893 when a prospector, Matthew Rodgers, reported that he had never seen a place like that. Soon after that his corporation bought the location from the local people and in 1890 started mining.
There is a private museum which has a collection of canons from the First World War and bullets taken from Lake Otjikoto. The Arts and Crafts Center is an instructive trust endorsing customary artifacts .The oldest construction is the Catholic Church of St. Barabara which was constructed in 1913.
There are two hotels where visitors can settle or else they can choose to go in room at a local visitor home.
Sightseeing in the region includes the Tsumeb Museum, African Baobab Trees, Cultural Village, De Wet Shaft, the Upper Levels, Otjikoto Lake, Smelter and Mine, Grootfontein Museum, Hoba Meteorite Guinas pond and of course the most well-known Etosha National Park.
