Swakopmund is a town on the seashore at the northwestern part of Namibia located in Africa.
Swakopmund is a seaside resort and its structure is influenced by the German regal architecture. It was established in 1892 and at this age played the role of the main harbor for the transportations between Germany and Africa.
In Swakopmund you can feel cold all the way through the year, since the chilly Atlantic Ocean get-together with the Namib Desert and a mist bank is generated.Attractions in Swakopmund include the Museum Swakopmund, a glassy gallery, the National Aquarium and impressive sand banks close to Langstrand. Outer of the town, you can visit one of the 5 all-grass desert golf courses in the earth, the famed Rossmund Desert Golf Course.
If you love watching birds, then you can visit the Salt Works and the Walvis Bay Lagoon, where you can observe thousands flamingos, especially in season. Also a very attractive place is the Welwitschia drive.
