Kengtung

Kengtung is one of the hidden diamonds of Myanmar. It is a city recently opened to foreigners and for this reason it secrets are still many. The city was closed due to a blockade of the border crossing to near-by Tachilek.
Some of the unwrapped landmarks of the city are the Maha Myat Muni image of Buda,  the temples of Sun Sali, Sun Taung and Sun Lwe as well as the characteristic wooden architecture of the traditional houses of the area. One of the most remarkable details of this architecture is the unique design of the balconies of those traditional houses.
