Fes or Fez is a popular city in Morocco, well known for its walled cities. During the Medieval times, Fes was Morocco's capital. There are actually two walled portions in Fes: the Fes-I-Bali which is the more traditional area and the Fes-I-Jdid which is the more modern portion.
There are so many Fes attractions that are highly recommended to tourists. The Bou Inania madersa, a college constructed in the 14th century, with walls made of wood that has carvings and which also showcase the calligraphy of the Arabs, is a well known Fes tourist site. The Sofital Palais Jamai Terrace is also a recommended site where you can get access to beautiful views of the medinas. Your visit to Fes will also be incomplete if you do not drop by the tannery which shows you how to make leather (leather making is one of the things Fes or Morocco is known for). Fes is definitely a must visit if you're interested in Islamic architecture as Islamic inspired structures are seen all over the city.
