Sliema is a town found on the Malta peninsula, specifically on the Eastern portion of the country, overlooking Floriana, Valletta and the Mediterranean Sea. Sliema is as modern as St Julians and is where most of the visitors stay because of the various inns, apartments and hotels in the area. There are also lots of bars, restaurants and shops in Sliema.
Most of the best eateries in Malta are found in Sliema, specifically on Howard Street. The area in the town fronting the sea is also a tourist destination because of free WIFI, several beaches, and a gamut of restaurants and cafes. Offshore is a cafe where you can taste Sliema's best cakes. The best Maltese dishes are offered in Ta' Kris. Baracuda may be a costly restaurant, but the food they serve is worth it, with the specialization being fish dishes. Sliema is also a destination for shopping enthusiasts. There are many streets that have countless shops and boutiques, even international labels such as Mango, Zara, etc.
