Malta is a small nation situated in the Mediterranean Sea, very close to Italy, specifically Sicily. The very first settlers in Malta were believed to set foot in the island as early as the 4th millennium BC. Because of Malta's good location, many nationalities have become interested in the country and have colonized it up to 1964 e.g. the Phoenicians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, the British amongst others. The country is famous for its ancient temples, structures influenced by the Baroque period, fireworks festivals, and many more.
Tourists are highly recommended to visit the following: Rabat where Roman Villas and the Catacombs of St. Paul are found; Malta's shopping center called Sliema and St. Julian's where some night entertainment may be enjoyed. Some of the best Malta beaches are found in Mellieħa. The Blue Grotto is another Malta tourist site made up of caves that showcase beautiful rock formations. Malta is indeed a charming country with lots of mysteries and adventures.
