Antananarivo is the capital and largest city of Madagascar in Africa.
The city of Antananarivo is one of the most French in stile in the country. It contains the legacy of the times when the island was a French colony, but it also offers its unique flavor of an interesting African, Arab and Polynesian mix.
The city of Antananarivo holds several landmarks, which deserve visiting - the Royal Palace Rova, the ancient monuments of Manjakamiadana, Manampisoa and Mahitsielafanjaka, and the Prime Minister's palace.
The city has a lively nightlife, many shopping opportunities (especially the traditional Marche Artisinale La Dique Craft Market) and excellent trekking spots known for picturesque landscapes and historical villages.
Featured place to visit: Ambohimanga
Featured place to eat: KUDETA
