Skopje

Skopje is the capital and biggest city in Macedonia on the Balkans.
The city of Skopje offers a more modern and contemporary view to the country of Macedonia. This sis due to the fact that a major earthquake destroyed a big part of the city in 1963. Much, however, was preserved and the city offers an good view to its long and eventful history.
The old town of Skopje busts with shops, grills, restaurants, and pastry shop. It holds also several architectural landmarks like the Church of the Holy Saviour with its unique iconostasis executed in masterful woodcarving, the Kursumli An and Suli An  caravanserais, the Daut Pasha Baths housing the Art Gallery, the Clock Tower and several picturesque mosques form the 15th and 16th century.
