Jerusalem

Jerusalem is the capital of the state of Israel and is undoubtedly one of the centres of pilgrimage of the world and even the most atheist person cannot be fascinated by the spirituality of this city. For many centuries this land and particularly this city have been target of the main monotheistic religions:  considered as place of birth of their religion, Christians, Muslims and Judaists have fought to make it their mystic centre. Actually they live together, not always in a peaceful way, in the Old City bringing together the millenary traditions in their districts. This district is surrounded by the big ancient walls and gates, like the Damascus Gate or Jaffa Gate. El Asqsa mosque, Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulchre, Western Wailing Wall, Saint John's Church and Citadel are a wonderful heritage that a traveller cannot miss. Also the labyrinth of its little streets give the traveller an extraordinary opportunity to breathe this particular atmosphere.
