Caesarea is a city located between Tel Aviv and Haifa, always on the Mediterranean coast The city has Roman origins and was built under the kingdom of Herod.
In the next centuries after its foundation, Caesarea was a big port and had a double aqueduct that brought water from the Carmel Mount to the city. The ruins of this aqueduct are still visible such as a great Roman theatre and are for sure recommended places to visit.
Besides the Roman heritage, the city has also part of Crusaider walls built by the French king Louis IX. Those historical sites now become the location for important music concerts and the port hosts an important jazz festival.
For the culture lovers the Ralli Museum is strongly recommended, containing its Salvador Dali' works.
