Bandung, located in West Java, Indonesia, is the third largest city in the country. It was considered as the Paris of Java by the Dutch during the colonial times for its resemblance to the city of Paris in France. Aside from that, Bandung was also referred to as Kota Kembang, or the Flower City, for the abundance of flowers that grew there.
Today, it boasts lush scenery with the Parahyangan Mountains in its periphery. This makes the climate pleasant and invigorating - just right for comfortably touring the many entertaining attractions in and around the city.
Among Bandung's treasures is its Dutch-Colonial architecture, which includes the Villa Isola with its magnificent gardens that are uniquely designed. There's also the Gedung Merdeka, which houses the 1955 Asian-African Conference. For those who like a little more excitement in their trips, go on a Lembang trip. This highland resort city is a must for any tourist. For the youngsters, a night out at Jalan Dago is the place to go.
