Mumbai, known in the past as Bombay, is the largest city in the country of India. 7 separate islands were joined in order to form Bombay, and then, another island (Salsette) was added, resulting to what we now know as Greater Bombay. Proof of Mumbai's cosmopolitan way of life is Bollywood, considered as the center of India's TV and film industry. The business centre is also situated in Mumbai. The city, however, is also home to the biggest Indian slum population. Still, countless people find Greater Bombay charming.
Some of the Mumbai attractions include the Gateway of India which is a magnificent arch built in commemoration of Queen Mary's and King George V's city visit, and Essel World, the largest amusement park in India. Mumbai restaurants will fill your stomach with some of the best cuisines in the world. If you love the night life, there are many hip and cool Mumbai bars you can check out. Despite the traffic and busy streets, vacations in India won't be complete without Mumbai.
