Tela

Tela is a sea resort town on the north coast of Honduras.
The town of Tela is situated between the cities of San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba and on the railroad connecting those cities. This railroad was originally build by the fruit trading companies of Honduras, which used Tela as a trading post and place for relaxation of the higher management.
The beaches of Tela are one of its main attractions and they are considered as the best beaches on the north shore of the country and competed only by Trujillo beaches in whole Honduras. The area of Tela is rapidly growing as a major tourist resort with plans for several 5 star hotels and an airport on the way.
Lancetilla Botanical Gardens are currently the most notable landmark near Tela. The gardens are full of unique species of trees and birds, which attract nature lovers from all over the world.
