Puerto Cortes

Puerto Cortes is the only deep-water port of Honduras and Central America.
The port of Puerto Cortes is one of the first places where Spaniards settled in Honduras. Its big bay, which and now offers service for even the biggest of the intercontinental ships plays an important role in the economy of Honduras and Central America as a whole.
Puerto Cortes has also beautiful beaches with views to the modern harbor, which is especially attractive at night. Puerto Cortes can serve as a good base for exploring this part of Honduras and the Caribbean, as it offers good road network and frequent ferries to several Caribbean islands.
