Conakry

Conakry is the capital and biggest city of Guinea in Africa.
The city of Conakry is situated on the Tumbo island at the tip of Kaloum Peninsula and is connected with it by a 300 m. peer, which continues the long main street connecting the city with its suburbs on the narrow peninsula.
The city of Conakry is known for its extensive botanical gardens, but it has few other attractions and landmarks. One of the most visited places is the National Museum with its collection of traditional masks and musical instruments. Other remarkable buildings include the 1930 Cathedral in the center, the Palais du Peuple ballet house and the Palais de l'OUA accompanied with 50 moorish style villas for the never taken place OUA of 1984.
If you are in for relaxation and good food you may visit one of the many restaurants on the long mains street Avenue de la Republique (or Route du Niger). Nice place for sun bathing and sea fun are the the islands of Iles de los, connected to Conakry with boat services.
