Agat is a town located at the south of the Apra Harbor, on Guam's western shore. It is regarded as the commercial centre of the south with several businesses located in this tranquil seaside village. Agat is also home to parks that commemorate World War II when the town became one of only two landing sites for the US Marines.
As war played a huge impact on the village, its main attraction is the War in the Pacific National Historical Park. It features facilities such as picnic pavilions, restrooms, barbecue grills, and many memorials and monuments dotted throughout the park. There are the Spanish bridges of Taleyfac and Taelayang, which are remnants of Guam's Spanish-colonial period.
Aside from historical attractions Agat also has recreational destinations any tourist will enjoy. There's the Agat Small Boat Marina, which is a popular spot for fishing derbies. There's Hap's Reef, which is a favourite site for snorkellers and divers. And there's Nimitz Beach, which is a public beach.
