Cape Coast is the main port of Ghana in West Africa.
The city of Cape Coast was one of the biggest centers of slave trade during its time and for this reason there are 2 castles close to the city. Nowadays it is a lively port with many modern attractions, nice beaches and close-by natural spots to explore.
The slave trading castles surrounding the city are Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle. The first is the largest slave trading castle and hosts a museum, while near the second one is and one of the best beaches of Cape Coast - Elmina Beach. .
Not far from the city is Kakum National Park holding the infamous Canopy Walkway. In this park you may enjoy nice nature hikes through areas of birds, snakes, and many interesting species of bugs.
