Considered one of the most visited countries in the world, France has everything that any traveller looks for in a destination: great food, fine wine, lovely countryside, good beaches, bustling cosmopolitan cities, and iconic monuments like the Eiffel Tower. The country’s long and rich history includes a long line of royals that were eventually overthrown by the French Revolution. This has given the nation a wealth of historic artefacts and places that tourists constantly visit and enjoy.   Famous France cities such as Paris boast a romance on the River Seine, Michelin-starred restaurants on the Champs Elysees, bustling shopping lanes, and historic monuments like the Notre Dame. Meanwhile, cities such as Nice and St. Tropez on the Mediterranean feature the perfect weather for enjoying the beaches.   In the meantime, the north of the country features rolling hills, tranquil harbour towns, and pristine beaches. The cities of Normandy and Britanny have managed to retain their unique Celtic origin and vibe that many of the towns in the area share.   Holidays in France during the hot and cold months are best enjoyed on the French Alps. Go hiking during the summer season. Or go skiing during winter in the scenic towns of Chamonix, Albertville, and Grenoble, all of which have hosted the Winter Olympics.   Travel France’s southern regions to enjoy good food, lush nature, and find historic Roman ruins. The Provence region is filled with quaint little villages where one can also find well-prepared food. Languedoc is where the majestic Pyrenees Mountain range which separates France from Spain. Languedoc is also interesting in that they have their own language and culture it’s easy to forget you’re still in France. Here, the towns of Montpellier, Toulouse, and Carcassone are must-see destinations.   The centre of France can be considered the most idyllic part of the country. However, don’t let this deter any travel plans to this region because it holds a trove of beautiful towns and magnificent castles, such as those found in Loire Valley.   And who can forget the wine regions of France? The rolling hills and vineyards of Metz, Nancy, Dijon, and Strasbourg produces some of the world’s famous wines as chardonnays and pinot noirs, including that which is called “Yellow Wine” from the vineyards of Jura.
