One of the best preserved Medieval capitals of the world, Tallinn is the shining star of the Baltics. As United Nations made it official in 1997, the old town of the city is a true world heritage. Originally built by the Germans in Medieval times, Tallinn´s dreamy old town today is better than ever. Walking around narrow cobblestone streets, churches and state buildings dating back as far as 10th century, intact city walls makes it feel a time travel experience. There is a lot to see outside the city walls as well. ONe can easily spend a day visiting the gardens and Soviet era buildings and abandoned military bases just outside of the city.
History isn´t the only virtue Tallinn has to offer though. The city has a hard-to-match cafe culture as well as a very lively nightlife scene. As the majority of the young population speaks fluent English, communication with locals is never a problem in Estonia.
