Sharm el-Sheikh is a popular resort town located at the southern end of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. It's a well loved resort destination for the Arabs, but has grown to be a preferred tourist spot for globetrotters who love the beach. In fact, it is said that about 9,000 tourists are in the city at any given day. And the numbers only continue to grow.
With its sunny weather, world-renowned scuba diving sites, plush 5-star accommodations, as well as myriad shopping and entertainment venues it's no wonder that this once little fishing village is now one of the most famed tourist destinations in the Red Sea.
Aside from the beaches, Sharm el-Sheikh attractions stretch to the remote mountain ranges of the Sinai Peninsula. The combination of the rocky mountains, deep-blue sea, and the flat desert strip in between them is a sight to behold and enjoy.
While here, visit the Sharm Old Town, the Bedouins, Mount Sinai, and dive the reefs of Ras Mohammed and Tiran. Or dive to see the SS Thistlegorm.
