Odense

Odense is the capital of Funen island and the third largest city of Denmark, Northern Europe. Odense is named after the chief of the Scandinavian gods – Odin. It is a settlement with more than 1000 years of history, which lived his major growth in the 19th century, after the completion of a canal which linked Odense with the sea and turned it in the major port of Funen. Nowadays it is a medium-sized university and manufacturing town with close to 180.000 inhabitants. Thanks to the university community the city is quite alive and offers interesting entertainment and nightlife.
