The Czech Repulic is famous for its spa town: Karlovy Vary, or Carlsbad. It was founded by Charles IV (a Holy Roman Emperor and Czech King) in 1350. The town is situated in the Tepla River's green valley, giving the town a serene and beautiful ambiance. From Prague, you can ride a bus for two hours to reach Karlovy Vary.
The most famous tourist attraction is its collection of colonnades. The colonnades have been around since the 19th century, with the Hot Spring Colonnade considered by many tourists the most popular of all. The waters from the spring are believed to have healing properties, and the fountain is a sight to behold. The town of Karlovy Vary is also well known for its spa treatments; in fact, your visit won't be complete if you don't experience one of the many treatments offered in this town. Another place that's highly recommended is the Moser Glass Factory where you'll learn all about the art of making glass and the secrets why Moser is dubbed as the ‘glass of kings'.
