Nicosia

Nicosia is the largest Cypriot city and is the capital city. Nicosia is a capital that's divided, with southern Nicosia considered the Republic of Cyprus' capital and northern Nicosia known as the capital of ‘Northern Cyprus'. Nicosia, unlike other cities in Cyprus, may not have the vibrant night life and the attractive beaches, but it is home to classic tourist sites that entice a lot of people to come for a visit. Nicosia's Old City is the main tourist destination as it has several attractions such as museums, galleries and theatres, dining spots and the like. The Cyprus Museum is a must visit especially if you are interested in the archaeology of the Cypriots. Art lovers are suggested to drop by the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre for contemporary works of art plus a Mediterranean inspired cafe. Sandwich kiosks and kebab houses are also plentiful in Nicosia.
