Split is located in the centre of Croatia, along the Adriatic coast and is the capital of Dalmatia regione. Being an old important Roman city. it still contains important monuments like the impressive Diocletian's Palace. This attraction seems to be more a fortification rather than a palace, but it contains also the Temple of Jupiter or a Mausoleum.
The magic that Split can show to the travellers is the mix of Roman, Bisantio, Venetian and African styles that you can see in the little streets of the old city, within the walls of the Palace.
These features captured the attention of the Unesco committee that inserted the old city in its World Heritage List.
Outside of the wall, the medieval Town Hall is another interesting place to visit, whereas important art galleries as Mestrovic Gallery will make the happiness of art lovers.
Split is also a place for young people, with its many discos, cafes and bars.
