Medellin

Medellin Colombia's second largest city is Medellin with close to three million people and is the department capital of Antioquia. Medellin lies in the Aburra Valley and is surrounded by mountains. Medellin has a number of busy markets and a vibrant street life where vendors sell almost everything imaginable. Santa Marta is where the city's largest commercial port is located and has a nice beach for visitors. The city has a number of parks, museums, sports teams, and shopping malls. It is known for its modern architecture. In Colombia, it is common knowledge the country's beauty queens come from Medellin as well as top models from the fashion world. One area that is full of nightlife, culture and a great place to meet friends is Parque Lleras that also goes by the name of Zona Rosa. A number of restaurants and entertainment facilities are located in the area and the zone is known to have great entertainment for the young university crowds.
