Cotonou is the biggest city of Benin in Africa.
The city of Cotonou is one of the major economical and transportation hubs of Benin. Its strategic locations makes it a good base for exploring almost all of the country.
The city itself has only few attractions which include the Parisian style Boulevard St. Michel, the city museum and the Dan Topka market, which is a usual place for catching a ride for some the interesting places close to Cotonou.
Excelent day-trips from Cotonou include the capital and historical city Porto-Novo, the slave port Ouidah, the ancient capital Dahomey and Ganvie, "the Venice of Africa" a village build on stakes in a lake, which are all accessible by paved roads from Cotonou.
Featured place to visit: Fidjrosse Beach
