Kitzbuhel is one of the best known Austrians winter resorts and a nice compact town in the foot of the Tirol Alps. Kitzbuhel's reputation of one of the special places for ski in the world is due to Hahnenkamm racecourse, which is the most challenging on the World Cup circuit. This may leave the wrong impression that this is a resort for serious skiers, nut this is not the case. As Kitzbuhel is at rather low altitude most of the slopes and ski runs are at beginners or intermediate level with the Hahnenkamm left as one of the few courses with real professional interest. Another ski related attraction of Kitzbuhel is the fact that using a carefully planned, clever combination of lifts, cable railways, and runs lets you ski for more than 145 km without having to climb a single foot. When visiting Kitzbuhel for skiing you should consider that in the end of January the Hahnenkamm racecourse, hosts the World Cup circuit, so if you are in for watching the world's best skiers in a busy little town, plan your visit at those days. If you are planning to take it more easy and actually try to even test the Hahnenkamm, better select more calm winter days. In the summer in Kitzbuhel you can enjoy golfing and cultural opportunities alongside with the chance to explore the Schwarzsee, a warm mountain lake and generally the green side of the majestic Alps. And don't forget - there are tons more of attractions, activities and interesting places to see in Kitzbuhel, visit them and write here at HolidayStreets.com about their beauty and mystery!
